Panther Pride (PBIS)

Florin Panthers are:

Responsible: Taking the initiative to be a self-directed learner and accountable for our actions.
Respectful
: Being Polite and kind towards others. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
Resilient
: Having perseverance and never give up. Learn from your mistakes. Keep going until you get it.

These are the “3 R’s” that define our school culture. Our focus on these principles, helps our staff to promote a positive and inclusive environment on our campus. We lead by example and respond to the individual needs of all of our students.

PBIS, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support, is a nationwide program that helps us to support our students in maintaining the "3 R's". At Florin High School, it's an integral part of our “Panther Pride” and a key to helping our students succeed.

The purpose of our Panther Pride Committee is to establish clear goals and expectations for anyone on our campus. We are aware that everyone approaches situations from an individual perspective and mindset, so we work to adapt and find a way to support every student. This leads to mutual respect amongst all.

At Florin High School, we take every opportunity to acknowledge the good examples around us by commending students when we see the “3 R's” in action. To that end, please be on the look out for our new Panther Postcard. Teachers and staff will send these home to students who are being Responsible, Respectful, or Resilient on campus. We hope that all students will be able to share their postcard with their families.

The PBIS Committee meets monthly to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and to develop ideas that can bring positive results to the Florin High School campus. Florin High parents, guardians, and students are welcome to join.
